Apostille Services for Documents From Any U.S. State

You do not have to live in California — or come to Orange County — to use our apostille service. We obtain apostilles for documents issued in all 50 states, Washington D.C., and at the federal level. Mail your documents to us from anywhere in the country and we handle the rest.

Why the issuing state matters: A document can only be apostilled by the state that issued it, or by the U.S. Department of State for federal documents. We identify the correct authority for your document and route it there for you — so you never have to research which office handles what.

How out-of-state apostille works

  1. Start your order online and tell us the document type, the state that issued it, and the destination country.
  2. Mail your documents to us (or upload them where allowed). We confirm they’re in the correct form for authentication.
  3. We submit to the correct authority — the issuing state’s Secretary of State, or the U.S. Department of State for federal documents.
  4. We return your apostilled documents by tracked, secure shipping to any address, in the U.S. or abroad.

States we serve

We process apostille and authentication requests for documents from every U.S. state and the District of Columbia:

What if my document is federal?

Federal documents — such as FBI background checks, IRS Form 6166, FDA or USDA certificates, and documents signed by a U.S. federal official — are not apostilled by any state. They must be authenticated by the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. We handle those too. Learn more on our federal apostille page.

Frequently asked questions

I live in another state. Can I still use you?

Yes. The large majority of our clients never visit our offices. You mail your documents in and we return them to any address you choose.

Does the apostille have to come from the state that issued the document?

Yes. An apostille must be issued by the authority in the document’s state of origin (or the U.S. Department of State for federal documents). We send your document to the correct office for you.

Can you handle documents from more than one state in a single order?

Yes. We can process multiple documents from different states together and coordinate the return shipment.

My document is going to a country that isn’t in the Hague Convention. Can you still help?

Yes — that document needs embassy or consulate legalization rather than an apostille, and we manage the full process.
