How to Pay UAE MOFA Fees for Your Personal Documents

…and Send the Receipt to Orange County Apostille

Follow these steps to pay your UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA/MOFAIC) fees online and send us the receipt so we can include it with your federal apostille for VFS Global / UAE legalization.

1. Go to the Official MOFA Website

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Go to: https://www.mofa.gov.ae 

(Make sure the address starts with https://www.mofa.gov.ae so you know you’re on the official site.)

2. Log In or Create an Account

You’ll see an option to Log In / Sign Up.

  • If you already have a UAE Pass or MOFAIC account: Log in using your existing details.
  • If you do NOT have an account: Choose Register or Create Account and sign up using:
    • Your email address
    • Your passport details
    • A mobile phone number (for verification, if requested) 

Once you’re logged in, continue to the next step.

3. Open the “Document Attestation” Service

Inside your MOFA account:

  1. Click Services
  2. Click Individual Services
  3. Select Document Attestation (sometimes called Attestation of Official Documents and Certificates) 

This is the service used for MOFA legalization of personal documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc.).

4. Choose Your Document Details

On the attestation page:

  1. Category: select Personal Documents
  2. Document Type: choose what you are legalizing, for example:
    • Birth Certificate
    • Marriage Certificate
    • Divorce Decree
    • Single Status Certificate
    • Educational Certificate, etc.
  3. Purpose: choose the reason (for example, Residency, Visa, Employment, Marriage, etc.). 

5. Upload the Document (If Requested)

If the system asks you to upload a copy:

  1. Upload a clear scan of the document that has already been:
    • Apostilled (federal apostille) and
    • Legalized by the UAE Embassy/Consulate (if applicable to your case)
  2. Use PDF or JPG format.

If upload is not requested, just follow the on-screen steps until you reach the payment page.

6. Confirm Location / Delivery (If Shown)

Some users will see options for where the document is or how it will be delivered:

  • If you’re outside the UAE and working through VFS Global (like with our service), choose the option that matches the international submission / mission instructions shown on screen. 

If you’re not sure, you can simply select the default suggested by the system and continue to payment.

7. Review the Fee

The system will show you the MOFA fee per document (amounts can change, so always rely on what appears on the screen).

  1. Check:
    • Number of documents
    • Total amount due
  2. Make sure everything looks correct before paying.

8. Pay the MOFA Fee Online

On the payment page, you can normally pay using: 

  • Credit or debit card (Visa / MasterCard)
  • Apple Pay / Google Pay (if available)
  • Other local e-payment options shown on screen

Steps:

  1. Enter your card details or choose your preferred wallet.
  2. Confirm the transaction.
  3. Wait until you see Payment Successful or a similar confirmation message.

9. Download and Save Your MOFA Receipt

After payment, the MOFA system will generate:

  • A payment confirmation
  • A MOFA reference number
  • A receipt (often as a PDF or downloadable file) 

Do the following:

  1. Download the receipt as a PDF (or save the page as a PDF).
  2. Save it with a clear file name, for example: MOFA-Receipt-YourName-Date.pdf
  3. You can also take a screenshot as backup, but the PDF is best.

10. Email the Receipt to Orange County Apostille

Once you have the receipt:

  1. Open your email.
  2. Compose a new message to: [email protected]
  3. Suggested subject line: MOFA Payment Receipt – [Your Full Name] – UAE Legalization
  4. In the body of the email, include:
    • Your full name
    • Your phone number
    • The type of document(s) (e.g., “U.S. Federal Apostilled FBI Report for UAE,” “Marriage Certificate with Federal Apostille,” etc.)
    • Any MOFA reference number shown on the receipt
  5. Attach the MOFA receipt PDF to the email.
  6. Click Send.

We will then:

  • Print and include your MOFA receipt with your federal apostille and other required documents
  • Submit everything to VFS Global / UAE Embassy for final legalization and MOFA processing according to the current UAE procedures.
